Gastrointestinal Disease Diagnosis
Gastrointestinal (GI) disease diagnosis is the identification and management of diseases affecting the gastrointestinal tract. GI diseases range from common conditions like irritable bowel syndrome and gastroesophageal reflux disease to rarer conditions such as Zollinger-Ellison syndrome. Diagnosis of GI diseases typically involves tests such as imaging, biopsy, stool analysis, endoscopy and blood tests. Accurate diagnosis of GI diseases can improve patient outcomes, reduce the risk of complications and help to prevent potential disease progression. Early diagnosis and timely treatment can also reduce hospital costs and improve the quality of life for those affected.
