Prostaglandins
Prostaglandins are hormones which are derived from fatty acids. They are involved in a wide range of physiological processes, including smooth muscle contraction, inflammation, fertility, and blood pressure regulation. Prostaglandins play an important role in helping to regulate the immune system and protect the body from injury and disease. They are also considered important for wound healing, pain relief, and maintaining a healthy heartbeat. They have been studied for their potential therapeutic benefits, with some prostaglandin-based drugs already being used to treat conditions such as asthma, arthritis, and glaucoma.
