Nucleases
Nucleases are enzymes that break down the long strands of DNA or RNA into smaller pieces. They are essential for the functioning and maintenance of life, as they play an important role in DNA and RNA replication, transcription, and repair. Nucleases are also used in laboratory research and biotechnology to study genetic material, analyse the sequence of nucleic acids, and edit genes. Newer applications of nucleases are in medicine, where they are used to diagnose and treat disease through targeted gene editing.
