Mechanisms of Signal Transduction

Signal transduction is an important process for understanding how cells communicate with each other. It is the mechanism by which a cell receives signals from its environment, interprets them, and then produces an appropriate response. Signal transduction involves a variety of proteins, molecules, and cellular processes to convert the signal from outside of the cell into a useful response within the cell. This process is essential for many cellular functions, such as growth, metabolism, and differentiation. By studying signal transduction, scientists can further our understanding of diseases and develop better treatments.
