Citrullination

Citrullination is a biochemical process in which the amino acid arginine is converted to citrulline. This process is important in many biological processes, such as gene expression, cellular signaling, and protein folding. As a result, citrullination plays a role in disease states such as arthritis and cancer. Research into citrullination has the potential to provide insights into why certain diseases occur and how they can be treated.
