Conventional Energy
Sources Conventional energy sources are energy sources that are widely used, generally coming from fossil fuels such as coal, oil, and natural gas. These sources are used to generate electricity, power cars and other transportation, heat homes, and provide energy to cook and other household tasks. Conventional energy sources produce large-scale emissions of pollutants such as carbon dioxide, and their use has been linked to climate change. Therefore, at a global level, there is an increased focus on developing renewable energy sources and reducing our dependence on these traditional sources. In addition to the environmental impacts, conventional energy sources are often expensive and can cause disruptions to the electricity grid.
