Tsh Levels
TSH, or thyroid-stimulating hormone, is a hormone produced by the pituitary gland that stimulates the thyroid gland to make thyroid hormones. TSH levels provide important information about how well the thyroid is functioning. High or low TSH levels can indicate an overactive or underactive thyroid, and may be helpful in diagnosing and treating thyroid conditions. Proper TSH levels are necessary for maintaining overall health, as thyroid hormones regulate metabolic rate, body temperature, and many other crucial functions. Abnormal TSH levels can lead to a variety of health complications and should be monitored closely by a healthcare provider.
