Sex Hormone Disorders
Sex hormone disorders are medical conditions in which a person has an imbalance of hormones that regulate the male or female characteristics of the body. These hormones, also known as sex hormones, include testosterone in males, estrogen and progesterone in females, and various other hormones in both sexes. When the levels of these hormones are out of balance, symptoms such as infertility, irregular menstrual periods, premature or delayed puberty, and decreased libido can occur. They can also lead to long-term health problems, such as polycystic ovary syndrome, endometriosis, and prostate cancer. Treatments may include lifestyle changes, such as diet and exercise, and medications, such as hormone replacement therapy. Sex hormone disorders can have a profound effect on a person's quality of life and overall health, so it's important to be aware of the signs and seek prompt medical attention when necessary.
