Osteoporosis

Osteoporosis is a condition marked by weakened bones, making them more likely to fracture. It is most common in women, particularly after menopause, when there is a decrease in the hormone estrogen. Osteoporosis is a serious condition that can lead to broken bones, decreased mobility, and a reduced quality of life. It is important to get regular bone density testing to diagnose the disease early and initiate treatment. Treatment typically involves lifestyle modifications (exercise, nutrition), medications, and sometimes nutraceuticals and supplements. By recognizing and managing osteoporosis, people can reduce their risk of fractures, leading to improved mobility and quality of life.
