Hypogonadism

Hypogonadism is a medical condition in which the body is unable to produce normal levels of sex hormones, especially testosterone, due to reduced or absent activity of the gonads (testicles in males or ovaries in females). It can have a significant impact on a person's physical and mental health, leading to decreased muscle mass and strength, lower energy levels, reduced libido, reduced fertility, and depression or other mood disorders. Treatment typically involves hormone replacement therapy (HRT) with the appropriate sex hormone. Proper diagnosis and management of hypogonadism is important to ensure the best possible outcome.
