Histamine

Histamine is an organic nitrogen compound that occurs naturally in the human body and acts as a neurotransmitter. In addition to its function in the nervous system, it plays an important role in regulating various physiological processes and mediating the body's inflammatory and allergic reactions. Histamine is also involved in causing some of the symptoms associated with hay fever and other forms of allergies, as well as in triggering reactions to food, medicines, and other environmental factors. It is also commonly used in lab tests and medical research.
