Estrogen Replacement Therapy
Estrogen Replacement Therapy (ERT) is a form of hormone replacement therapy that replaces the hormones estrogen and progesterone in order to treat symptoms of menopause such as hot flashes, night sweats, and vaginal dryness. ERT is prescribed to women when their bodies no longer produce enough of these hormones naturally. ERT has been found to be a very effective form of menopausal symptom relief and has numerous other benefits, including increased bone density, reduced risk of stroke, and improved heart health. Additionally, ERT has been shown to reduce the risk of certain types of cancers, including ovarian and endometrial cancer. By replacing the hormones that are no longer being naturally produced by the body, ERT helps women to maintain a healthy hormonal balance and get the necessary symptom relief they need.
