Estradiol
Estradiol is a naturally-occurring form of the female hormone estrogen and is essential for many bodily processes. It plays a role in physical and psychological development, reproduction, and bone health. Estradiol is produced in the ovaries, the testes, and the adrenal glands, and its levels vary depending on age and gender. Low levels of estradiol can cause changes in menstruation, infertility, mood swings, and brittle bones, while high levels can increase the risk of certain types of cancer, such as breast and ovarian. In addition, estradiol is widely used in hormone replacement therapy, contraception, menopausal therapy, and fertility treatments.
