Salpingotomy
Salpingotomy is a surgical procedure that involves cutting and removing a damaged fallopian tube. It is often used to treat certain medical conditions, such as ectopic pregnancy, endometriosis, and pelvic inflammatory disease, that have caused a blockage to the fallopian tube. Salpingotomy can also be used to prevent complications from tubal ligation or to remove scar tissue from the fallopian tube after previous surgeries. The aim of a salpingotomy is to enable the patient to maintain their fertility by preserving the healthy fallopian tube. As a minimally invasive procedure, it is considered to be a safe and effective way to treat many fallopian tube disorders. Additionally, salpingotomy can also help reduce the risk of ectopic pregnancy as well as improve the chances of successful pregnancy in the future.
