Fetuses

Fetuses are unborn babies at any stage of development in utero. They are significant because they are the earliest stage of development in humans, and are a reflection of the potential of human life. Fetuses provide a unique opportunity for medical research and technological advancement; fetal ultrasounds, for example, provide doctors with vital information on prenatal health and the development of a baby. Fetal tissue donation has allowed for the advancement of medical treatments, such as the development of new vaccines, and the use of fetal stem cells has provided new insights into cures for a range of diseases. Fetal research also holds promise for the development of new technologies in diagnostics and therapeutics, and as such, has great potential to improve the quality of human life.
