Ectoderm

Ectoderm is the outer layer of cells in embryos, which gives rise to a variety of structures such as skin, teeth, hair and nails. It is the most primitive layer and is highly significant as it is the precursor to the rest of the body's organs and tissues. This layer is also home to a variety of sensory neurons and is necessary for proper development of the body and its functions. Moreover, ectoderm is also involved in some diseases, such as certain skin cancer and hair loss, as well as genetic disorders. Its study and understanding provide important insights into the development of the body and its potential diseases.
