Blastoderm
The blastoderm is a cell layer in the early embryo of a variety of animals, such as fruit flies, butterflies, and spiders. It is composed of just a few cells and represents the earliest stage of embryonic development. This layer of cells provides the foundation for the development of the entire organism and is responsible for the growth and development of body parts, such as organs, muscles, and limbs. By understanding the developmental processes of the blastoderm, researchers can better understand how organisms grow and develop. Additionally, knowledge of the blastoderm has been used to help develop treatments for various diseases, including cancer and congenital disorders.
