Research Interests:

1) Improvement of the fatigue behaviour of Al MMC;
2) Effect of fluidized bed treatment on surface and mechanical properties of metals;
3) Production and characterization morphological and mechanical of metal foams (Al, Ag, Fe, Pb);
4) Shape memory alloys employed as sensors or sensors/actuators;
5) Pressure assisted solidification for high performance Al components;
6) Mirostructural study of cfc materials under small scale expplosion;
7) Superplasticity in PbSn Alloy;
8) Structures of liquid metals and percursor phenomena during melting and solidification;
9) Structural materials to be employed in the future fusion reactors;
10) Mechanical and microstructural analysis of welded joints with different joining techniques (TIG, Laser, FSW, Explosion).

Biography:

  • Dr. Girolamo Costanza was born in Catania (Italy) on 13 feb. 1973, Master Degree in Mechanical Engineering at the University of Rome Tor Vergata on 14 May 1997 (97/100). Thesis: “Studio di leghe a memoria di forma CuAlNi” in italian
  • Prof. Costanza has been referee for the following international journal: Composites Science and Technology; International Journal of Material and Product Technology; International Journal of Fatigue; International Journal of Computational Materials Science and Surface Engineering; Sensors and Actuators A: Physical. 
  • Since 2002 he is member of the PhD of Industrial Engineering
