Therapeutic Window Method
The Therapeutic Window Method is a drug development technique used to determine the optimal dosage or range of doses to be administered to a patient. This method uses preclinical and clinical studies to estimate the exposure dose-response relationship of active drug compounds in the body and to aid in making decisions regarding the most effective dosage of a drug. This technique has been used to improve safety and efficacy of drugs, to reduce overall costs of drug development, and to identify optimal therapeutic windows in order to maximize drug benefits while minimizing side effects and toxicity.
