Phage Therapy
Phage therapy is a type of treatment that uses viruses to attack bacteria. It is used to treat bacterial infections that are not able to be treated with antibiotics. Phage therapy is seen as a potentially important tool in the fight against antibiotic resistance, as well as a possible solution for treatment-resistant infections. The phages used in this therapy are specifically designed to target and destroy specific bacterial strains, decreasing the risk of side effects. Phage therapy has been used to successfully treat a range of bacterial infections, from skin infections to sepsis, and is being further investigated as a potential treatment for other bacterial diseases.
