Drug Adherence
Drug Adherence is the practice of taking medications as prescribed by a healthcare provider in the correct amount and at the proper time. It is an important concept in healthcare that helps to reduce healthcare costs and improve outcomes by preventing the spread of infectious diseases, reducing hospitalizations and associated healthcare costs, and preventing medical complicaitons due to inadequate use of medications. Improving Drug Adherence is an important goal for healthcare providers, payers, and individuals to ensure that medications are taken as prescribed in order to maximize their benefit.
