Surface Modification

of biomaterials Surface modification of biomaterials is a process of changing the chemical, physical and biological properties of materials used in medical applications. These modifications improve the performance of the material, making it more suitable for its purpose. By altering the surface properties of the materials, it is possible to improve the biocompatibility and the long-term behavior of medical devices. Surface modification can also be used to reduce the risk of infection, decrease the immune response to implanted materials, increase the durability of the material, improve the surface lubricity, and make the device more resistant to corrosion. The use of surface modification has revolutionized the field of biomedical engineering and is a crucial factor in the development of advanced medical devices.
