Southern Analysis
Southern Analysis is a laboratory technique used to detect the presence of a specific DNA molecule in a sample. It is based on the detection of the presence of a particular sequence of nucleotides in the DNA molecule, which are then visualized by the use of a gel electrophoresis process. This method is often used to study the genetic composition of an organism or identify the presence of a specific gene. It can also be used to analyse the expression of a particular gene, allowing scientists to identify potential therapeutic targets. Southern Analysis is a valuable tool for the study of various biological phenomena, as it provides a rapid, accurate and cost-effective means to detect and characterize DNA sequences.
