Nucleosomes

Nucleosomes are the fundamental building blocks of chromatin, the material that makes up chromosomes. They are composed of two pieces of DNA, wound around eight histone proteins. Nucleosomes are important for gene expression and DNA packing, two processes essential for the proper functioning of the cell. They act as a structural scaffold to pack DNA in a very condensed form and facilitate communication between the genetic code and regulatory proteins. Understanding nucleosomes and their roles in gene expression has helped scientists better understand many human diseases and other biological processes.

DNA, is like a blueprint of biological guidelines that a living organism must follow to exist and remain functional. RNA, helps carry out this blueprint's guidelines. RNA is more versatile than DNA, capable of performing numerous, diverse tasks in an organism, however DNA is more stable and holds more complex information for longer periods of time.
