Gel Electrophoresis

Gel Electrophoresis is a laboratory technique that is used to separate biological molecules, such as DNA and proteins, based on their size and charge. This process relies on the application of an electrical field to induce the movement of particles within a gel matrix. The movement of the molecules within the gel is dictated by their size, shape, and ionic charge. By using this technique, one can easily analyze the components of a sample, determine the size distribution of molecules, and identify differences in molecular composition. Gel Electrophoresis has various applications in the fields of biotechnology, clinical diagnostics, and forensic science, including DNA sequencing, gene mapping, and disease diagnosis. This technique is an invaluable tool for researchers and clinicians alike, as it allows for quick and accurate results.
