Computational Biology Alternative Splicing
Computational biology is the use of mathematical and computational methods to study and solve biological problems. Alternative splicing is a process in which a single gene can produce multiple, distinct proteins through the combination of exons in different ways to form different mRNA molecules. Computational biology can be used to study and analyze alternative splicing events, allowing us to better understand how they impact gene regulation, protein structure and function, and disease. This understanding can lead to more informed and targetted medical treatments, as well as strategies to modify and improve proteins of interest in industrial and agricultural applications.
