Trinucleotide Repeats

Trinucleotide repeats are sequences of three nucleotides that repeat in a row multiple times within a gene. Trinucleotide repeats can be found in many species, including humans, and are associated with a variety of diseases when the number of repeats exceeds a certain limit. Trinucleotide repeats are important for understanding how genetic mutations can lead to diseases, and are used in genetic testing to diagnose and predict the onset of disorders caused by trinucleotide repeat expansions.
