Subclinical Disease
Subclinical disease is a medical condition in which there are no outward signs or symptoms, but tests and scans can detect subtle changes in the body. It is important in medical care because it can help doctors identify and diagnose medical issues before they progress to serious, or even life-threatening, illnesses. Additionally, treatment may be available to prevent or slow the progression of a subclinical disease, which is especially important when dealing with chronic illnesses. Subclinical diseases often occur prior to the onset of an overt clinical condition and are an early warning sign of the development of a more serious pathology. Early diagnosis is key to successful management, reducing the risk of complications or mortality associated with the disease.
