Neisseria Meningitidis
Neisseria Meningitidis is a bacterium that is responsible for causing meningococcal meningitis, a serious and potentially deadly infection of the membranes surrounding the brain and spinal cord. It is usually spread through food, droplets in the air, or by direct contact with an infected person. It is important to recognize the signs and symptoms of this infection, which include fever, headache, nausea, and stiff neck, as it can be fatal if left untreated. Vaccines are available to help protect against Neisseria Meningitidis and are recommended for individuals at certain ages and in certain areas. Early diagnosis and treatment are key to successful recovery from this infection.
