Molecular Genetics
Molecular genetics is a field of biology that studies the structure and function of genes at a molecular level. It uses techniques from biochemistry and genetics to analyze and manipulate the genetic material of organisms, in efforts to gain a greater understanding of the underlying mechanisms of biological processes. Molecular genetics has a broad range of applications, such as in the development of pharmaceutical drugs and gene therapies for treating genetic diseases. It can also be used for forensics, agricultural biotechnology and to understand the evolution of species. Molecular genetics is essential in advancing our understanding of life, the natural world and in making possible the manipulation and control of biological processes to benefit humankind.
