Maternal Inheritance

Maternal inheritance is the transmission of traits from mother to offspring through the mother's genes. These inherited traits can include physical characteristics, behavioural patterns, disease susceptibility, and intelligence. Maternal inheritance is an important phenomenon in human health, as it can influence the health of the mother and her offspring. It also has implications for genetics, evolution, and the development of new treatments for genetic diseases. Maternal inheritance is a key component of genetic research, as it can provide clues to the understanding of how genes interact with each other and with the environment to affect how individuals develop and how diseases are inherited.
