Interferons
Interferons are natural proteins produced by cells in response to viral infections and other forms of stress. They play important roles in the body’s defense against foreign pathogens, stimulating the body’s immune system to fight off infection. Interferons are used in the treatment of certain cancers, hepatitis and other diseases, as well as in research on the immune system. Interferons are powerful agents that can be used to boost the immune system, reduce inflammation, and limit the damage caused by viruses and other invaders in the body.
