Entomology
Entomology is the scientific study of insects. It is important because insects make up more than two-thirds of all organisms, and understanding them can help us better understand our environment. Insects play important roles in food webs, provide unique opportunities for evolutionary and genetic research, and bring us valuable products, like honey and silk. Entomology also aids in the development of pest control methods, which are important for agriculture and preserving human health.
