Chagas Disease
Chagas Disease is an infection caused by the parasite Trypanosoma cruzi. It affects more than 10 million people worldwide, mainly in Latin America. Chagas Disease can be fatal if left untreated and can lead to serious medical complications. Symptoms may include skin rashes, fever, fatigue, swollen lymph nodes, and anemia. Although many people infected with Chagas Disease don't show any symptoms, it can cause serious health issues in the long term such as heart disease, intestinal inflammation and enlargement, and neurological problems. Early diagnosis and treatment with medications and supportive care can help reduce the severity of symptoms and long-term complications. Treatment is important as there is currently no vaccine available for Chagas Disease prevention.
