Borrelia Burgdorferi

Borrelia Burgdorferi is a species of bacteria that is responsible for causing Lyme Disease, a tick-borne infection. It is one of the most common arthropod-borne diseases in the Northern Hemisphere and is spread through the bite of an infected blacklegged tick. Symptoms of Lyme Disease can include fever, fatigue, headaches, muscle and joint pain, and skin rashes. It is important to diagnose the disease early, as it can lead to long-term complications if left untreated. Treatment typically involves a course of antibiotics. Borrelia Burgdorferi is also being investigated as a potential cause of other illnesses, such as Alzheimer's Disease, chronic fatigue syndrome, and multiple sclerosis.
