Biopsy

A biopsy is a medical procedure in which a sample of cells or tissues are removed from a patient's body for diagnostic testing. The sample is examined under a microscope by a pathologist to look for abnormal cells and to help determine a diagnosis and inform treatment decisions. Biopsies can be used to detect cancer, to determine the type and stage of a cancer, to evaluate inflammation or infection, and to diagnose many other medical conditons. Biopsies are essential in managing a variety of medical conditions and play a critical role in providing accurate diagnosis and appropriate, timely treatment.
