Microsurgery
Microsurgery is the surgical use of very small instruments for precision procedures on organs and tissues. Due to a magnifying lens and specialized instruments, it is possible to undertake operations in a very small area with excellent accuracy, allowing for one- to two-millimeter dissections on tissue that would otherwise be impossible with traditional surgical tools. This highly specialized surgery is often used to reattach severed body parts and transfer tissues from one area of the body to another. It is also used to implant medical devices and perform delicate reconstructive procedures. Microsurgery has revolutionized reconstructive and restorative medicine and has allowed surgeons to perform life-saving and life-enhancing operations that would otherwise have been impossible.
