Malt Lymphoma

Malt Lymphoma is a rare type of non-Hodgkin's Lymphoma, an aggressive type of cancer of the lymphatic system. This rare cancer is caused by an abnormal growth of lymphoid tissue, which is associated with an infection from Helicobacter pylori bacteria. Symptoms of Malt Lymphoma include enlarged lymph nodes, swollen abdomen, weight loss, and fever. Treatment for Malt Lymphoma typically involves chemotherapy and radiation therapy. Surgery may also be necessary in some cases. Improved prognoses are achieved through early diagnosis, as well as aggressive treatment. Malt Lymphoma can be a life-threatening condition, however, early diagnosis and treatment with modern therapies can offer improved survival rates.
