Inferior Vena Cava
The inferior vena cava, or IVC, is a major vein in the human body, located in the abdomen. It is responsible for returning blood from the lower body to the heart. It is an important part of the human circulatory system, delivering blood rich in oxygen and nutrients to the organs and tissues of the body. Additionally, it helps maintain the body’s blood pressure and helps remove waste and excess fluids from the body. The IVC is also a common site for medical interventions and is used in the diagnosis and treatment of various conditions, including vena cava syndrome, deep vein thrombosis, and pulmonary embolism.
