Enteritis
Enteritis is an inflammation of the small intestine. It is usually caused by a bacterial or viral infection, but can also be caused by food intolerance, drug reactions, or autoimmune disorders. Symptoms of enteritis include abdominal pain and cramping, nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, and dehydration. Treatment typically includes antibiotics, anti-inflammatory medications, and rest. Enteritis can be prevented by good hygiene, such as frequent handwashing and avoiding contact with those who are ill. It is important to recognize the signs and symptoms of enteritis and seek treatment early; if left untreated, enteritis can lead to serious complications.
