Constipation
Constipation is a common digestive disorder characterized by infrequent bowel movements, difficult passage of stools, and a feeling of incomplete evacuation. In most cases, constipation is caused by a lack of fiber in the diet and insufficient water intake. It can also be caused by certain medications or health conditions, such as hypothyroidism. Constipation can lead to abdominal discomfort and bloating, and has been linked to an increased risk of health problems such as type 2 diabetes and heart disease. Treatment of constipation includes increasing dietary fiber and water intake, as well as engaging in regular physical activity. Many people also find relief through laxatives, fiber supplements, and probiotics. Constipation is a manageable health condition, but should be treated as soon as possible in order to avoid potential complications.
