Appendicitis

Appendicitis is an inflammation of the appendix, a small organ located in the lower-right portion of the abdomen. It is a common and life-threatening condition, as the inflamed appendix may rupture and cause a serious infection known as peritonitis. Symptoms typically include abdominal pain, nausea, vomiting, and loss of appetite, and should be treated immediately with antibiotics and surgery to remove the appendix. Prompt diagnosis and treatment of appendicitis are critical to prevent complications.
