Spark Source Mass Spectrometry
Spark Source Mass Spectrometry (SMS) is a powerful analytical tool used to identify and quantify chemical compounds in a wide variety of sample types. This technique combines a spark source and a mass spectrometer to generate a highly-sensitive and detailed mass spectrum of the sample. The mass spectrum is then used to determine the molecular weight of the compounds present in the sample, as well as their relative abundance. SMS is used in a number of fields, including pharmaceuticals, environmental sciences, and forensics. Its high sensitivity and specificity make it an important tool for detecting trace levels of compounds in complex samples, allowing researchers to gain insights into their composition and reactivity.
