Overview

Glycomics is the scientific study of all types of carbohydrates (sugars and polysaccharides) and their biological functions. It is an important field in modern biological and biomedical research as carbohydrates play important roles in many biological processes, including cell-cell recognition, immune response and blood clotting. Glycomics research can help us better understand and develop treatments for a range of diseases such as cancer, diabetes and autoimmune disorders. It can also be used to create novel compounds and drugs with improved properties, as well as to develop better vaccines and diagnostics for infectious diseases.
