Urticaria

Urticaria is a skin condition that is characterized by itchy and raised welts (hives) on the skin surface. It is a reaction to a variety of triggers such as allergies, drugs, foods, and stress. Urticaria can be acute (lasting up to 6 weeks) or chronic (lasting longer than 6 weeks). Treatment options include antihistamines, corticosteroids, and other medications. It is important to seek medical advice to identify and manage the underlying cause and to ensure appropriate treatment for symptom relief. Urticaria may sometimes be associated with other serious conditions such as anaphylaxis and autoimmune diseases, and may therefore be a sign of a more serious underlying condition.
