Pediatric dermatology is a specialty of medical and surgical care devoted to the diagnosis and treatment of cutaneous (skin and mucosa) diseases and disorders in children. These may include birthmarks, moles, warts, rashes, psoriasis, skin infections, eczema, vitiligo, and other skin conditions. Managing and minimizing scarring, minimizing the risk of infection, and preventing disfigurement are primary objectives of pediatric dermatology.
