Keloids
Keloids are thick, rubbery, dome-shaped scars that form beyond the boundaries of the original injury. They typically appear at the site of ear piercings, cuts, and burns. They can cause pain, itchiness, and disfigurement, as well as interfere with normal movement of the skin. Keloids usually don’t resolve spontaneously, and treatment can be challenging. Treatment options typically include corticosteroid injections, cryotherapy, and laser or light-based treatments, as well as surgery. Without treatment, keloids can become larger, and in some cases, they can cause emotional distress.

Dermatology is the area of health that diagnoses and treats problems with the skin. Sometimes also, cosmetic care and enhancement. Dermatology is literally the study of the skin. A dermatologist treats diseases of skin which can also be cosmetic problems of the skin, scalp, hair, and nails. It is a specialty with both medical and surgical aspects.
