Jejunostomy

A jejunostomy is a surgical procedure in which a tube is inserted through the abdominal wall into the jejunum to provide direct access to nutrients. This procedure is frequently used as short-term nutrition support for patients unable to take in food orally, or for those whose intestinal functions are compromised due to conditions such as Crohn's disease or cancer. This procedure can help sustain a person's life while their intestines are healing, or while they are receiving other medical treatments or therapies. Furthermore, it can be used to provide nutrition to those who have difficulty swallowing or digesting food. Jejunostomy is a safe and effective way of providing nutritional support to those in need and is an important part of treatment plans for many medical conditions.
