Immunohisto Chemistry

Immunohistochemistry (IHC) is a type of medical laboratory technique used to detect antigens in tissue sections. It is used to identify the presence and location of specific proteins or antigens in a sample of tissue. Through IHC, medical researchers are able to gain insights into the roles of these proteins and antigens in the development and progression of diseases. By examining the expression, localization and level of proteins, scientists can determine if an antigen is functioning normally or if it is abnormal and could potentially be the source of a disease. IHC is also used in diagnosis and prognosis of specific diseases, as well as for analyzing therapeutic outcomes. The process of IHC is useful in helping provide more accurate diagnoses, better therapeutic monitoring and earlier detection of diseases.
