Ehlers-danlos Syndrome
Ehlers-Danlos Syndrome (EDS) is a genetic disorder that affects the body's connective tissues. It is caused by mutations in one of the genes responsible for producing collagen, a protein that gives strength and flexibility to the body's tissues. People with EDS have joints that are too loose and skin that is easily injured or bruised. They may also suffer from chronic pain and fatigue. Symptoms of EDS vary from person to person and can range from mild to severe. Regular medical care and lifestyle modifications can be beneficial, but there is no cure for EDS. Early diagnosis and treatment are key for managing symptoms, reducing complications, and improving quality of life.
